FAQs

Here are some common questions about Get Education for Free.

How will this course help me?
Scholarship hunting can be long and tiring, I want to help you to make the most of your time. Before people take my course they get about 1 out of every 10 scholarships they apply for. Once they take my course that increases to 1 out of every 3 or 4 scholarships they apply for.
My main course goes over practical tips for finding and applying for scholarships including advice for parents and students. I go over the specifics on how to prepare, how to create a positive mindset, how to find scholarships, and then how to apply. This includes a 12 page document of resources where you can find your first 500 scholarships. It also includes a document you can use to organize your scholarship application information so you can easily apply (by copying and pasting) to scholarships as quickly as possible. Saving you time and money.
Why was Get Education for Free Started?

After my husband passed away, I went back to college to get my degree. I wasn’t sure how I was going to pay for a bachelor’s degree. It was a scary time for me and my family. However, I was able to use what I learned over the past 20 years concerning scholarships and applied and received enough money to pay for all my expenses for school plus an extra $12,000.

I went on to apply for scholarships for my Master’s degree and received double the amount I needed. One of my daughters received $77,000 in scholarships and it was enough for all her college expenses plus a car. I teach all of the skills my daughter and I used in my course so you can do the same.

Can I really pay for college with scholarships?

Of course you can, no matter who you are there are scholarships out there for you. You can even pay for more than just college, my daughter used the information in my course to pay for her college expenses and bought herself a car. The possibilities are endless. I encourage you to enroll in my course and take the next step to being debt free with no student loans.

What is the difference between a scholarship and a student loan?

While both can help you pay for college, these two are very different. A student loan is something you need to pay back eventually, with interest. In fact, if you ever go bankrupt a student loan is one debt that won’t ever be forgiven. You will always have to pay it back. However, a scholarship is money that you’re given to pay for college with no need to pay it back. Some scholarships are renewable each year and you need to figure out how to do this according to their rules, but that money is yours to keep.

What if my grades aren't good enough for academic scholarships?

Academic scholarships aren’t the only option! There are a lot of types of scholarships you can apply for. There are academic scholarships, needs based, leadership, athletic, employer, military, and so many more. The goal of my course is to teach you how to get scholarships that work for you based on your skills and situation.

When do I need to apply for scholarships?

Scholarships are available all year round, meaning you can start right now. You can even start looking for scholarships before their applications open to get ahead of the competition. But the best time for a senior in high school would be to start applying at the beginning of their senior year somewhere around October through April. Some schools assess freshman college scholarships in the first part of December (9 months before college even begins.)

Can I get scholarships even if I'm going back for my degree when I am older?

Absolutely, that’s what I did! Scholarships aren’t just for high schoolers, many are available for different age groups in different life stages. There are more general ones or you can get scholarships through your employer if you continue to work for them for a set number of years.

What are the best scholarships?

The highest paying scholarships aren’t always the best since you’re put all your eggs in one basket. So many people apply to the highest paying scholarships so the better chance is to apply for scholarships specific to you. Getting several, smaller scholarships is sometimes better than focusing on the “big ones.”
